EXHIBITION CUM SALE OF HANDICRAFTS GOODS

Under National Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP) – 2023-24

An Exhibition Cum Sale of Handicrafts Goods was successfully organized at Batpora, Budgam from 26-08-2023 to 04-09-2023 (10 days).

The programme was sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Plot No. 8, Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi – 110070.

The event was organized by M/s Mehjoor Handicrafts Producer Company Limited, Paripora Magam, District Budgam, J&K (UT).

A wide variety of traditional Kashmiri handicraft products were displayed and sold during the exhibition. These included:

• Sozni Embroidered Shawls

• Ladies Suits

• Sarees

• Aari Jamas

• Rumals

• Stoles

• Ladies Pherans

• Crewel Embroidered Bags

• Paper Mache Items

• Hand Embroidered Woollen Garments

• Handcrafted Accessories

• Traditional Kashmiri Textile Products

The exhibition provided a strong marketing platform for artisans, Self Help Groups, and local craft producers. It helped increase direct sales, create customer awareness, and promote the rich heritage of Kashmiri handicrafts. The programme also supported artisan income generation and strengthened market linkages under the NHDP scheme.
